misfortunes

But it wasn’t long before I decided that looking pretty wasn’t enough.

When a white van accelerated past me, that was it, something had to be done. No-one had tried beefing up a colt before (that we knew of!), except for Ralliart’s Evo VI lump transplant, but at £30,000 that wasn’t really an option. They had tried to chip the colt’s 1.6 engine but only managed to give it an extra 3 bhp before blowing the engine up.  My new Ralliart exhaust gave me more than that (4bhp).  The challenge had begun.

After a lot of time and effort, emails and phone calls, we were advised to speak to John at Wincanton Motor Services.  He gave us two options:

1)   Build us a custom turbo
2)   Transplant an FTO V6 Mivec 2 litre engine, into my vastly underused engine bay.

Guess which one I opted for!

And yet another wheel change (due to the five
studded FTO hubs
17 inch non chromes
