In 1999 I wanted a new car, preferably brand new, quick and sporty.  I like hot hatches so I started looking at the Nissan Pulsar.  Very nice but the youngest I could find was a J reg (older than my currant car), then I spotted a Mitsubishi colt.  Not bad I thought, especially the ‘Mirage’ with it’s side skirts and front fogs. With a 1.6 engine it was quicker than my Clio and with a personalised number plate, on August 1st 1999 it was mine.

I drove it off the forecourt and straight away to change the boring 13 inch alloys to 15 inch chromes.

However it wasn’t long before I decided it wasn’t pretty or unique enough, but nowhere seemed to make body kits or even exhausts for colts. Until that is........

My husband (without whom none of this would have been possible)  has a Nissan Skyline and so naturally buys Japanese import car magazines. In the February/March 2001 edition of Banzai Magazine was the review of the Essen Motor show in Germany.  At that show was a prototype colt evo built by Ralliart Germany.  Well that was it, I wanted my car to look like that.

Banzai kindly gave us the number of Ralliart.  We were met with a very enthusiastic PR who was from Britain and so handled all of our arrangements.  After a few hurdles and it looking like it was never going to happen in July 2001 we went on our way to Frankfurt.
It did seem that the hotel and the staff at Ralliart didn,t know we were coming, but our faith was restored by the enthusiasm of Chris. (Which we give big thanks to).
